West Virginia Task Force Targets College Completion Rates

A West Virginia task force has developed a plan to improve the state’s college graduation rate.
The Charleston Gazette reports that the task force released a five-step plan on Thursday, May 31, 2012.
The recommendations include making college graduation a state priority, reducing the time it takes students to earn a degree and to improve remediation courses.
Other recommendations include increasing adult graduation rates and to tie higher-education funding to college graduation rates.
West Virginia has the lowest college attendance and completion rates in the country.
