West Virginia Humanities Council Announces Grant Deadlines

The West Virginia Humanities Council, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, serves West Virginia through grants and direct programs in the humanities.

The West Virginia Humanities Council budgets more than $600,000 for grants and programs each year.

A variety of major grants and mini-grants are offered to nonprofit organizations that support educational programming.

The Humanities Council mini-grant deadlines occur every 60 days for projects requesting $1,500 or less.

The next two mini-grant deadlines are August 01, 2012 and October 01, 2012.


The West Virginia Humanities Council recently awarded six new mini-grants:

Ohio County Public Library, “Wheeling Arts Fest 2012,“ (Ohio County);

Troy Elementary School, “History Hitting the Road at Troy Elementary,“ (Gilmer County);

West Virginia University Research Corp., “Preserving the Legacy of West Virginia All Black Sports & Academic Hall of Fame,“ (Monongalia County);

4-H Clubs of Webster County, “History Hitting the Road at the Webster County Fair,“ (Webster County);

Landmark Studio for the Arts, “Elk River Gathering,“ (Braxton County); and

Mercer County Schools, “Pure Imagination: The Magic Ticket,“ (Mercer County).
