Age 78, of Sutton, WV passed away at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV after a long illness.
He was born June 27, 1933, in Widen, WV, a son of the late Alfred and Fannie May Dolin Bowyer.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of Masonic Lodge 83 F & AM, Coventry-Akron.
He attended the First Southern Baptist Church, Sutton.
Robert was preceded in death by one infant son, David, and a brother, Walter L. Bowyer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shelby Long Bowyer; one son, Ronald and his wife, Wyoma, of Sealy, Texas; and grandchildren, Rebecca Bowyer, Huntsville, Texas and Lucas Bowyer, Sealy, Texas.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Stockert-Sizemore Funeral Home, Flatwoods with Rev. Rick Canfield officiating.
Burial took place in Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, WV.
Friends called from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday.
