Sand Fork Alumni Dinner 2011
On Saturday evening, June 25, 201 the Gilmer County Senior Center in Glenville was buzzing with people from far and near who had attended Sand Fork School.

States represented were Tennessee, Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania, as well as many from our home state.
Some came with friends who were former students there.

96 year old Oleva Miller came from Virginia to attend
the Sand Fork Reunion
The oldest person in attendance was Oleva Miller, 96, from Virginia.
A delicious meal was served and a short business meeting was held.
Officers elected were:
• President – Roy E. White
• Vice-President – Joe Putnam
• Secretary-Treasurer – Judy Jones

An auction was held and many nice door prizes were won.

Sue Cottrill, the recipient of the Sand Fork Alumni of the Year
The Alumni of the Year award was presented to Sue Shaver Cottrill for her dedication to school and community.
Classes of 1941, 1951, and 1961 were honored.

A special table seated the Sand Fork Alumni scholarship recipients Meghan Luzader, Jessica Montgomery, Charles Self, and their parents.
Floral arrangements were done by Nancy Bartlett and Judy Jones.
A date was set for next year’s reunion at the same location on June 30, 2012.
