Myrtle Fisher Gregory
Age 97, died in Flatwoods, on Monday, February 21, 2011.
Born February 06, 1914, on England Run, Braxton County, as the last of six children born to Eli Newton Fisher and Mary Ellen Gibson.
Myrtle married Walter Martin Gregory on June 03, 1934. Myrtle and Walter lived in Fall Run since 1954 and attended Fall Run United Methodist Church.
Myrtle was instrumental in getting the Fall Run Senior Center started for her small community and served as President for a time. Myrtle was an avid quilter and made and sold quilts for many years. She also enjoyed crocheting and frequently made elaborate doilies and bedspreads for family and friends. Her work will be used and cherished by all who were lucky enough to receive one.
Myrtle was so very proud of her son, Ford; and her two grandchildren, Kevin and Lisa.
She proudly displayed certificates and awards they received over the years on the walls of her home along with photographs of family and friends.
Survivors include Myrtle’s son, Arnold Ford Gregory and wife, Nettie Robinson Gregory, of Ireland; grandson, Kevin Ford Gregory and wife, Brenda Gregory, of Fort Sill, Okla.; her granddaughter, Lisa Gregory Rollins, and husband, Bernard Rollins, of Fredericksburg, VA; her great-grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Gregory, Adeline Rachel-Nicole Gregory, Mariah Elizabeth Rollins and Jackson Randolph Rollins.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Walter; her sisters, Margaret Williams, Olga Pickens, Alta Pickens, Gay Boggs, and Berthena Gibson; and her brother, Elmer Gibson.
Beloved friends and neighbors included Emmogene Cogar Slaughter, Karen Lake, and Virginia Wiant, along with her 23 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Fall Run Senior Center, c/o Eddie Williams, Ireland, WV 26376, in memory of Myrtle.
Family were received friends from Noon to 1:00 PM Friday, February 25, at the Alkire Funeral Chapel, Ireland.
Funeral services began at 1:00 PM with Pastor Robert Mitchell officiating.
Burial ollowed at the Falls Mill Cemetery in Braxton County.
