Glenville: City-Wide Yard Sale to Be Held 1st Weekend of June 2012

image

As warm weather and yard sale season approaches, the City of Glenville will be giving citizens an opportunity to participate in a city-wide yard sale.

There will be a city-wide yard sale the 1st weekend of June- Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd.

During this time, the city will be waiving the yard sale permit fee.

Please remember that a city ordinance (enacted March 01, 2004) requires those wishing to have a yard sale to fill out an application and pay a $5.00 permit fee.

Nevertheless, the city will be waiving this fee during the city-wide yard sale.

The city will be advertising this yard sale through several media outlets in surrounding communities. If you are having a sale and would like for it to be advertised, please send us the following information:

•  Name

•  Address

•  Description of sale – items you will have, or any other information you would like to be published.

A listing of all yard sales will be published one week prior to the sale. Additionally, maps will be printed showing yard sale locations in each city ward. These listings and maps will be available at several locations in the community (TBA) for out-of-towners to pick up and use as guides during the sale.

If you want your yard sale listed, please send us the information on or before Friday, May 25, 2012. No late submissions will be accepted. You can call in your sell to City Hall at 304.462.8040, mail the information, send a fax to 304.462.5274, or e-mail Mayor Allman at “allman.tashuam@hotmail.com”

Remember the old adage, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” and take this opportunity to get rid of some things you no longer need.
