ON JULY 4, ROCKEFELLER APPLAUDS WEST VIRGINIA’S SPIRIT OF COMING TOGETHER

The Gilmer Free Press

Senator Jay Rockefeller today issued the following statement on July 04.

“Today we remember where we came from as a country and all the struggles that our founders went through to create a free nation.  And we remember the hard work of so many members of our military and veterans to protect this country and keep it free each and every day.  Just as so many Americans do on July 4th – I believe the best way to remember, is to celebrate by joining together with family and friends.  With the recent storms, so many West Virginians – from our National Guard members and first responders, to food banks, churches, retailers, and neighbors – are coming together in inspiring ways to help those still struggling by lending a helping hand. That’s the West Virginia way, and on this Independence Day I thank everyone who is looking beyond their own front door to help those in need.”
