Naomi Marie Smith

Age 89, of Cairo, passed away February 15, 2012, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

She was born December 26, 1922 in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late Grover G. Wolfe and Lennet Viola (Neely) Wolfe.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and had worked for Cairo Manufacturing and Flesher’s Drugstore in Cairo.

She was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.

Naomi graduated from Cairo High School in 1941, never missing a day of school in those 12 years, a record that still stands.

Surviving is her daughter Joyce Cisler and husband Jeff of Waverly, son Benny Smith and wife Janice of Petroleum, brothers Donald Wolfe of Parkersburg and Robert Wolfe of Albuquerque, N.M. and sister Mary Hoover of Parkersburg.

She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Wayne Darnold (Amy), Jerry Smith (Amber), Amy McIntosh (John) and Scott Smith and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ralph E. “Bud” Smith, two grandchildren: Jayson Smith and C. J. McIntosh, brother Woodrow Wolfe and sister Betty Watkins.

Funeral services will be Saturday 1:00 PM at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Cairo with Pastors Dan Martin and Carlos Nutter officiating.

Interment will follow at the Cairo IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services.
