Hayvard Mendyll Tonkin
Age 79, of Little Birch, WV passed away June 30, 2012 at home.
He was born on October 17, 1932 in Erbacon.
He is the son of Charles McTyre and Ruby Rollins Tonkin.
Hayvard was a gas well tender for Pond Fork Oil and Gas and an equipment operator for Cooley’s Lumber. He was a heavy equipment mechanic in the Army.
He was a Baptist by faith.
He is preceded in death by his Wife, Brothers: McTure Tonkin, Athelson Tonkin, Lareigh Tonkin, and two sisters.
He is survived by his Sons: Curt Hayvard Tonkin and Lavern Mendyll Tonkin both of Little Birch, Kenton O’Gene Tonkin of Tesla, and Glenn Dale Tonkin of Sutton, Daughters: Brenda Darlene Tonkin of Bean Station, Tennessee, Octavia Fern Cogar of Sutton, Regina Gay Davis and Angela Fern Manns both of Little Birch, and Carol Bernice Ellis of Gassaway, Sisters: Belecia Prater, Melva June Giles, and Jeanie “Tiny” Murphy,18 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.
A Graveside service was held at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 02, 2012 at the Hall Cemetery at Spring Ridge, Erbacon with Rev. Teddy Legg officiating.
