Way Back When – 1st Anniversary of Gilmer County Schools Takeover

The Gilmer Free Press

The Gilmer Free Press

This pretty well sums up the feelings of all of the HONEST, caring, tax paying citizens of Gilmer County. The old saying, “Actions speak louder than words” sure holds true in good ole Gilmer County. “Elites are you proud of your accomplishments”?

2 members of the site selection committee voting to seek personal enrichment. Denial of knowledge of this although he submitted a request for millions to the SBA.Gave the second site and our children to Lewis County when that could not be circumvented and was subject to legal action.  No questions permitted on the BOE agenda about the consolidation before it is sent to Heinlein for pre- approval.  Misinformation as to meeting purposes and suppression of public input. State Super signs off on levy assessment and a budget laid on the backs of the people without bringing it to a vote of our own elected officials as he speaks in the Boards name.  Taxation without representation and illegal, unethical conduct as every elected and appointed member of our community outside the County BOE sat silent.

Is it true as reported that Williamson and Shriver, the firm hired to do the school site selection study, recommended the Letter Gap site for the new elementary school? If it is true, how was the decision made to shift to the Arbuckle site in the trust administered by the Butcher and Butcher law firm? We still don’t know how much Blankenship offered for the Arbuckle site land and how much site prep work would have been compared to expenses for the Letter Gap site. We were not told the cost of the W&S study either. Another question for watching feds is how does W&S get all those SBA contracts for services? Any connections to the Manchin family with Mark Manchin heading the SBA?

Per our BOE Lettergap was #1 site choice. In the CEFP and in phone conversations, Blankenship said more land was needed for the addition of construction Phase II, a 7/8 grade addition and Phase III, a new high school when the current facility could not meet the needs despite projections showing continued enrollment decrease. He chose the #2 Arbuckle land for that reason.

Sept 8, 2011 Lewis Co Super.Mace notified State Super. Marple in writing of intent to modify their CEFP for inter county Elementary School on the Lewis/Gilmer line and was to make it official at their Sept 25th meeting.

Gilmer County’s CEFP meeting was not held until Sept 28, 2011 with one copy of the 301 Pg. report at the Board Office for review but availability was not even mentioned in the certified copies of advertisement for the meeting in the Democrat.

Although the State has arbitrary discretion to seize schools the Achilles heel is what a super does. If definitive proof can be compiled that one is unprofessional, unethical, disingenuous, incompetent, arbitrary and capricious in how he/she conducts business, and incompetent, State code does not exclude them from vulnerably to removal. What the “elite” want us to believe is that we have no power when we are a formidable fighting force lying in wait to take the moral high ground. In the interim let’s continue keeping book. A word to the “elite”—-a rule of information warfare is to never underestimate the power of the social media when truth and justice are marching against you.

How could anyone of sound mind justify that there would be population increases in Gilmer to justify construction of three schools on Arbuckle land? Sounds as if the super had motives for other reasons. Any guesses why? This fiasco is one more reason a study must be funded to have an outside and highly qualified, professional group to do our planning. For those who think that Nasia’s CEFP committee was qualified for the job, do you think that officials in a blue ribbon school district would want to hire them for planning? What’s your opinion RJ? You seem to have an inside track.

5 usable acres is all that is required for a school and it is eligible for expansion.  That covers Phase I and II.  As far as the dream of needing Phase III construction of a new High School due to enrollment increase, there will be multiple sites empty, already approved and paid for with buildings to be torn down.  The High School itself sits on 21 acres per the CEFP. The cost to prep a prepaid for site has to be much less than the well over 1 million quoted to just prep the Arbuckle site. There has been no quote as to cost of the land to my knowledge.
According to Williamson Shriver Architects Inc. they required 15 meetings to get that plan done.  No one I know has seen the bill but Mace says Gilmer County has to pay it.  They were selected without bid based on their glowing history with the State.

Justification of sound minds. They are using their money to buy power and control not their minds. The numbers of students in Gilmer County is declining each year. Why would anyone with “good common sense” move to this area and subject their children to what is happening with our education system in this county? People are leaving our county and taking their children elsewhere to get a education and those are the smart ones.

Why would we need three new schools? We don’t. All the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent to remodel/repair/build onto the Gilmer County High School and they say they will eventually built a new one. WHY? A new county High School is not what we need. We need an administeration with good common sense and an interest in the students welfare. It is not the building that is the problem, it is the ones controlling it.

Wonder what they plan to do with the present high school? Do you suppose they will move the several expensive $1,200 flower pots that the Principal of GCHS purchased with our taxpayers money? This may be years down the road but it is already in the making.

Qualifications do not make any difference here, it is who you know not what you know and who can be controlled and who owns what land so that they can line their pockets with our money. Thanks to “THE ELITES” what a sad sorry mess this county has become. I’m sure the students whos lives you have messed with are real appreciative also. Thanks for nothing. RJ I am sorry to say it is not the same county you went to school in and it is a total disaster education wise. If you lived here and your children were being educated here, you would see what the complaining is really all about.

Seeing is believing!!!

SOME PEOPLE IN GILMER COUNTY LOVE THEIR GOVERNMENT SO MUCH THEY WANTED TO BUY IT, AND SO THEY HAVE.

Like baboons in a lab that will eat cocaine till they die, our leaders are literally addicted to power!

Cocaine has its effects by hijacking our brain’s reward system. it can give short-term extreme pleasure but leads to long-term addiction and all the hell that comes with it, so does addiction to power, and so eventually comes the addiction to the Power of Darkness in Gilmer County and Central West Virginia!

Believing we knew what we were doing, we permitted a political class of jacked up drug dealing mob “Want to be’s” and half wits to develop and thrive here — known to us all as the local CROOKS and LIARS that have evolved into a corrupted self-selecting priesthood in the Church of IKE!

Too much power can disrupt normal thinking and emotions leading to gross errors in judgment impervious to risk, not to mention huge egos and a lack of empathy for others — this description readily exemplifies the person who belongs to the elite club who often frolic up on ELITE hill home of the FRIGHT HOUSE which is often the welcome home to CROOKS and LIARS!!

“The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Here the road is all uphill and it’s paved with ill gotten gains, and the dirty laundry of the Butcher #######!”

Imagine a community, no matter how ideal, where no man or woman’s word could ever be counted on. Where questions asked, answers given and all information passed became worthless, just like at the Gilmer County Courthouse because no one could be trusted, just like at the Gilmer County Courthouse!

Our CROOKS and LIARS, the ones we put in power, like all CROOKS and LIARS, have simply decided that rules and laws of the land don’t apply to them.

Yet even the habitual Crook, even the habitual Liar, does so figuring that others tell the truth. Otherwise they would have no point of reference to spin their lie from to give them a Crook advantage.

Word is roaring throughout the County that Mr. Blankenship is working frantically to purchase 80 acres of Arbuckle trust land for an undisclosed price. That is the land over which R. T. Butcher serves as a trustee. Why all the secrecy and behind the scenes activity Mr. Blankenship? He is reportedly claiming that the large tract of land is needed for three new schools which is outrageous because Gilmer County is losing population and a reversal of that trend is nowhere in sight. If citizens would write to Governor Tomblin to inform him of the disrespect and other shabby treatment we are getting from approval of Dr. Marple and Mr. Charles Heinlein, Mr. Blankenship would be history. Folks, if we refuse to stands up for ourselves and our children we will never stop being victimized, and our doing nothing is what the “elite” count on.

I’ve written to Governor Tomlin twice about the problem in Gilmer Count schools.  Both times, I received a note that my concerns were forwarded to Mark Manchin.  Uh, what good did my letters do? Who else can we write to?  I wonder if the governor ever sees his mail - or if he merely thinks what the citizens think not worthy of his time.

Comment by Karen Pennebaker  on  06.13.2012

T0: Karen Pennebaker,

I haven’t always agreed with everything you have said, but I would like to express to you that I wish there were 10 more of you.

Nor do I think we would be friends or would get along well as a friend mainly for the reason and I still say, I wish we had ten more of you.

For you never give up, and you took a positive action by writing the governor, but you see what you are up against. I have called the governor and his associates and they always return the calls, but these people stick together like the Butcher and Butcher law firm whether it is the right thing to do or not.

Keep up the good work Karen Pennebaker, for we need to organize and ban together in our common cause.

The sad situation is most of our public officials are dishonest, and I wouldn’t say that if I couldn’t prove it with documents.

Gilmer County is in sad state.

I did talk to a big shot investigator for a major network that called me today, it had been days of work to make the connection. Big names called me from L.A. and gave me some private news line numbers, then today I got the call I was waiting for.

I debated for 40 min. on the phone about why the nation would even be interested in a place this person has never heard of, and it was quite a debate, and I met more than my match in argument capability, and I am not sure how much progress, I made, but I tried, just like you.

Governor Tomblin is on his education reform tour right now. No meeting scheduled for central WV.  No need, we sit home, don’t vote and put the same people who support the agenda in office over and over. What does he need to talk to us about? We’re under control as far as he is concerned.
