Tomblin Grand Marshal of Coca Cola 600
Governor Earl Ray Tomblin will spend most of his Memorial Day holiday weekend in Charlotte.
Tomblin is the grand marshal of this year’s Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race.
Tomblin’s duties begin Saturday when he’ll speak at the VIP pre-race party at NASCAR Hall of Fame.
The governor will tour the garage and pit area at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon and then be in the lead car when the race begins at 6:00 PM Sunday.
Tomblin is scheduled to return to West Virginia Monday in time for the dedication service for the new state Veterans Cemetery in Kanawha County.
