Assault charges should be brought immediately against this deputy, and the State Police need to give an accounting of their participation in this.

Unfortunately for us in Gilmer County, Virginia Lanham, Assistant Attorney General is the chief counsel for the State Police and she has proved herself to be dishonest—and not move complaints forward if they are from Glenville and/or Gilmer County no matter what the evidence. Her father was an attorney for IKE MORRIS and she grew up here locally.

The last complaint filed against the police involving Gilmer County and Gerald B Hough she tried to cover up, but Major Ingold of Police Standards was ordered to send the complaint immediately back that same day intact with all documents, that same report was forwarded to Shawn Morgan Assistant US Attorney, and the complaint was picked up by Special Litigation’s   because it did have merit, but they usually are only contacted when a legitimate complaint, was covered up or turned down.

This was uncalled for. The old man was patting you on the arm to get attention, that is the way we have to do when we can’t hear right.
And Metz you are still the sheriff for now, and you do have control of what your officers do. But this will help you not to get elected to anything.
You wouldn’t even take the papers the family got against the officer. And the one trooper had already left the garage, so he didn’t see what started it.
But one person knows and you better ask him to forgive you and tell the family you are sorry or you may burn in hell.

Guess this is the way the Sheriff has trained his boys?  It sure makes the Casom Jones taser deal a lot more believable.
And now Mickey Metz wants us to vote for him for Magistrate?  I surely hope the community is smarter than that?
Think before you mark a ballot for Metz.

To Commisioners:

Metz   M U S T   G O

He has failed us and continues to do so.

The only thing he has been good at is lying, hiding behind his deputies, stealing, to just name a few.

Metz   M U S T   B E   R E M O V E D cool mad

He DOES need to answer questions about lying and stealing.  He OWES us an explanation about what happened to the laptop computer the county bought Deputy Huffman.  It seemed to disappear when his wife did, along with things belonging to an elderly woman in Glenville that she was caring for! Isn’t he or the deputy responsible for the replacement of the laptop or the value of it?  He has lots of questions to answer but I doubt we’ll hear anything from him except more campaign lies!!!

What a travesty of justice. This gentleman may have over reacted, but doesn’t deserve the treatment he received. In my opinion the police over react more and more because they can act out and push that little chip on their shoulder and get away with it. To me it’s nothing more than Macho BS. (human’s - the most dangerous animal on this - or any other -planet).

Not to discredit this guy, but the pictures don’t lead me to believe he was savagely beaten by anyone.

Obviously we have a lot of LAWYERS out there commenting?  Law enforcement DOES need a search warrant to enter a home unless invited in or they can clearly see something that leads them to believe a crime was committed.  You’re missing the forest for the trees.  It’s not the brusing shown in the pictures.  It’s the brain injury that cannot be seen, that was verified by Ruby Memorial, that is the issue here.  It takes a pretty hard blow to cause that kind of injury.  Wake up idiots!

OMG r u really believing this *** Mr singleton is an alcoholic and deserves every thing he gets in my opinion.  He hit the officer first and should have had his lights knocked out!!!Good Job GCSD If you know this family and many of you do than you can only imagine what happened that night, I wish I could have witnessed his so called severe beating looks to me like he bumped his arm on a corner of something to get those bruises.  His Son Rodney has beat him up worse than that.  If the truth be known Rodney probably did that…Cant wait to see ya’ll loose your a**es in court LOL!!
R***** has beat up his own Dad a couple well I think 4 or fives times and beat EVERY wife that he has had 3 to be exact. He damn near killed Kendra, to be a fly on the wall

To Ex family member,

Why would Mr Singleton deserve everything he gets because YOU SAY he is an alcoholic? Is that a documented medical fact, or just your expert medical opinion?

Why do you bring up the son who was not there AGAIN, and AGAIN? Get over it, he was not there and is not part of the issue.

WHO SAYS Singleton struck the officer? In fact, you may consider, this is Gilmer County, the county famous for making things up and backing false evidence all the way to the Supreme Court in DC.

NO 76 year old man should have his lights knocked out. He may be suffering from a Alzheimer or some other disease, or is hard of hearing and could not judge properly the circumstance.

Ex family member, you had your say on the free press, and we have heard what you said, and all can consider your argument.

Thanks for sharing.
