Age 67, of the Glenville Care and Rehabilitation Center, died Sunday, June 03, 2012 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston, following an extended illness.
He was born March 13, 1945 in Gilmer Station, WV, a son of the late Arthur B. Townsend and Lena Parsons Townsend.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Jerry Townsend and Paul W. Townsend; and two sisters, Maxine James and Phyllis “Jackie” Love.
He is survived by one brother, Michael W. Townsend and wife Dolores of Weston; one sister, Peggy E. Bragg of Copen; one sister-in-law, Glenna Lavon Townsend of Jane Lew; and several nieces and nephews, two of which, Betty Townsend and Christina Hall, he had previously resided with.
Bruce had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the mining and construction industries.
He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
According to his wishes, cremation services were provided by Boyle Funeral Home, Weston.
