When asked, both the Gilmer County Appointed Superintendent and the State Dept of Education’s Deputy Superintendent adamantly denied that the High School failed to make AYP last year.

There is no way to develop trust, improve public perception or move forward with a solid plan to improve education when all communications with those in authority prove to be based on lies of convenience.

Secrecy and lies.  Its the elites SOP.
The government and politicians cannot function and get reelected with transparency and truth.
Gilmer County and West Virginia are great examples.

This is an example of an X marks the spot situation with The AYP failure at the GCHS. What more evidence do we need that a change in administration is needed at the school? The change could occur by reassigning personnel without anyone being fired and there would be an improvement of morale and team work at the school to benefit our students, and there would be more citizen support for what the State is doing. It doesn’t work that way does it? What the people want is ignored and at the same time we are being lobbied hard for a school levy to continue to pay out our hard earned money when we have no say at all regarding how our school system is run. The bottom line is a continuation of business as usual to favor the empowered elite in the Land of Gil.

How did it happen?  The Superintendent won’t justify a reading teacher, the State won’t justify remodeling their building.  They sit in trailers with no gym, no team and yet Normantown students passed AYP again.

There can be no greater testament to the power of excellent Teachers and a caring Principal when it comes to providing a good education.
