AAA: Gas Prices Jump Nearly 21 Cents in West Virginia

The Gilmer Free Press

Gas prices have jumped nearly 21 cents in West Virginia over the past week on the heels of pipeline and refinery problems in the Midwest.

The average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline in West Virginia is $3.73.

Prices range from $3.61 in Martinsburg to $3.87 in Huntington.

The price hike follows a pipeline rupture in southern Wisconsin last month and equipment problems that have closed parts of refineries in Indiana and Illinois.

Michigan had a 34-cent jump in gas prices in one week, and prices jumped 33 cents in Illinois and Indiana, and 26 cents in Wisconsin.

Nationally, gas prices are averaging $3.63 per gallon.

A year ago, gas prices averaged $3.53 in West Virginia.

It looks like all the problems with fuel prices happen about the same time each year.  I see a trend in this and a rip off to all of us.
