Charles Ruhl Butcher

Age 77, of Simpson Run Road, Weston, died February 09, 2012, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

He was born January 10, 1935, in Lewis County, the son the late Everett Rurl Butcher and Jean Ainsley Oliver Butcher.

He was married July 19, 1964, in Lewis County to Sharon Dever who survives along with two sons, Scott Ruhl Butcher and Michael Robert Butcher both of Weston.

Two sisters, Alice Ann Byrd and husband Crawford of Weston, Ladonna Cayton and husband Thorne of Weston. Several nieces and nephews survive.

Mr. Butcher volunteered in the army in 1955 and was sent to Carson Colorado for artillery training, then to Germany and was honorably discharged in 1957. At that time he returned home to Weston to be with his loving family. He was a great family man who loved his wife and sons very much. He loved to travel and attend many fan fares of the West Virginia Mountaineers football team.

He was retired from Equitable Gas Company where he held many positions.

He was a member of the GeeLick United Methodist Church.

Memorial services was held Saturday afternoon at the Morris Funeral Home in Jane Lew at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Russell Furr officiating.
