WV Attorney General Warns Residents about Medicare Scam
West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw is warning residents about a Medicare telephone scam.
McGraw said Thursday residents have reported receiving telephone calls from a fake company that claims it is contacting them on behalf of Medicare.
The company claims the residents have to give it personal information such as checking account or Social Security numbers to receive a new Medicare card.
The scam calls have been reported in Monongalia, Marion, Harrison and Barbour counties.
