Braxton County: Missing Elderly Man Found

According to a news release from the West Virginia State Police, the Search and Rescue team along with the Braxton County Sheriff’s Department began searching for a missing elderly man around 4:00 AM on Saturday.

The search party included law enforcement officers and local firefighters.

John M. Cowger, 76, of Gassaway, was found around 6:00 AM Saturday in a garage on Little Otter Road in Braxton County.

Cowger was treated by Braxton County Emergency Medical Services on the scene.

He was later transported to Braxton County Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

There is no word yet on the man’s condition at this time.
