Leonard Lee “Jack” Smith
Age 76, of 265 Hickory Hills Road Jane Lew, WV passed away on Tuesday, August 07, 2012 in United Hospital Center of Bridgeport following an extended illness.
He was born in on May 04, 1936: son of the late Floda Smith and was raised by his late Aunt Bessie Yeager.
On December 04, 1961, he married Manoka Ruth (Kerns) Smith, who preceded him in death on June 19, 2012.
Mr. Smith is survived by three sons: Leonard Smith, Jr. of Parkersburg, David Smith of Jane Lew and Christopher (Kristie) Smith of Terra Alta and two grandchildren: Demi Smith and Jared Metz.
Mr. Smith was a retired psychiatric aide at the Weston State Hospital. He was a graduate of Weston High School. Leonard was an avid camper and hunter. He enjoyed traveling and reading. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army where he was with the Military Police in Germany.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, August 09, 2012 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
A graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
Interment will follow services in the family plots in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
