Yeager Airport: Another Aborted Takeoff

A Delta flight from Charleston to Cincinnati was aborted at Yeager Airport Monday morning when a tire blew.
The plane going down the runway for takeoff and right in the middle of leading up to takeoff it apparently blew a tire.
The pilot applied the brakes and the plane came to a stop before reaching the airport’s emergency stopping system. That system is set to be repaired soon after being used last month after an apparent electrical problem caused a pilot to abort takeoff on a regional jet bound for Charlotte.
The pilot stopped the plane quickly. The passengers could see material coming up and smell the burning of rubber after the tire blew.
“He (pilot) seemed to do a pretty good job grasping the situation and bringing the plane to a safe stop,“ a passenger said.
No one injured after tire blows on flight bound for Cincinnati.
