WV House and Senate - 03.09.10

One of the sleeper bills this session is SB186 that would create a new panel of administrative law judges in the Department of Transportation to deal with drunk drivers. It breezed through the Senate but members of the House Judiciary Committee decided it needed several revisions Tuesday morning. A key change would be that the Division of Motor Vehicles would relinquish its authority to decide punishment for drunk drivers.
