What Do I Need for Election Day?

This Tuesday, November 6 is Election Day. Millions of Americans across the country will head to the polls to elect their representatives at the local, state, and federal levels.

It’s important to know a few things if you’re planning to participate in the midterm elections.

Here is some of the information you’ll need to be ready.

Find Your Polling Place

Your location is assigned based on your residential address.

Not sure where your polling place is?

Find out where and when to cast your vote.

Remember, if you’re in line by the time it closes, you’re allowed to vote, even if you reach the poll well after closing time.

ID Requirements

Two-thirds of states require some form of identification at the polls.

Around half of the states with voter identification laws only accept photo IDs.

Make sure you are aware of your state’s requirements.

If you witness discrimination or fraud at the polling station, you can report it to the appropriate office

Voter Accessibility

The Free Press WV

The law requires that all Americans, including seniors and people with disabilities, have the opportunity to vote.

If you or a loved one has a disability, know the rights you have on Election Day and how you can make the process easier.
