PUBLIC HEARING

The Gilmer County Economic Development Association (G.C.E.D.A.) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Glenville Inn Conference Room in Glenville, WV.

The G.C.E.D.A. is considering submitting an application, on the county’s behalf, to the West Virginia Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

The purpose of the hearing is to obtain information on the community development and broadband needs of Gilmer County. All interested persons are urged to attend.

The Normantown Historical Community Center will be having their Fall Festival on Saturday October 14th beginning with apple butter making on the grounds starting around 11:00 am it will be sold later on in the day…

There will be games set up to be played all day such as volleyball, cornhole, and a face painter will be available for those wishing to have their faces painted, horseshoes as well as Bingo at 5:00 and the playground is still usable for those “Youngin’s”. 

There is a pie baking contest and pies are requested to be there by 2:00 for judging at 3:00 and all pies will then be used for dessert for their cornbread and bean supper starting at 4:00 and carry outs will be available. 

Those interested in “Jamming” a little bit are invited to come and join in on the music for the evening..

Come out and join in on the fun and support the community…

All proceeds benefit the center.

Camden Flats Baptist Church is sponsoring a Community Fall Family Fun Day on Sunday October 15, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 pm.

Pumpkin carving, face painting, crafts, and games will be part of the events planned to help bring families together for fun and family time.
