Glenville State Dominates Bluefield State, Claims 12th Straight Victory

The Glenville State Lady Pioneers earned their 12th straight victory and 19th consecutive win at home on Monday night as they defeated the Big Blues of Bluefield State 134-34.

Glenville State (13-1) forced Bluefield State (1-15) into 38 turnovers and came away with 21 steals as they claimed the largest margin of victory in school history by 100 points.

The Lady Pioneers jumped out to an early 18 point lead in first quarter at the 6:09 minute mark and never looked back.

Glenville State scored 70 points in the first half as they held a 55 point lead at halftime 70-15.

GSC outscored Bluefield State 33-12 in the third and 31-7 in the fourth.

The Lady Pioneers as a team had 31 assists which was 11 away from the NCAA DII record. Glenville State also nailed 26 three-pointers in the contest which was seven away from the NCAA record.

GSC scored a season high 61 points off of turnovers and outscored Bluefield State in the paint 56-14. Glenville State won the rebounding battle by 32 out rebounding the Big Blues 67-35.

On the night GSC shot 47 percent from the field and 36 from deep while Bluefield State shot 22 percent from the floor and 12 percent from deep.

Paris McLeod posted a triple-double on the evening, her second of her career, scoring 22 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. She was also four steals away from having a quadruple-double as she finished with six steals.

Emily Stoller also scored 22 points in the victory as she went 6-of-14 from behind the three-point line. Erika Toney chipped in with 13 points. Julie Bishop and Taylor Parker each scored 12 points in the win.

Courtney Davis grabbed 10 rebounds to go with seven points and three blocks. Abby Stoller and Asiya Smith each pulled down nine rebounds.

Bluefield State was led by Rosalie Pozo as she scored 11 points while Lyndsay Hatfield scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds.

The 134 points scored is the most this season by the Lady Pioneers.

Glenville State (13-1) will return to action this Thursday, January 11th as they host the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State at 5:30 p.m. from the Waco Center.
