McKinley, Talks Bipartisan Solution To Shutdown

Enough is enough. Both Democrats and Republicans need to stop digging in their heels and work to find a solution that allows federal employees to go back to work and provides adequate funding for border security. We can’t let this shutdown drag on; federal employees and all American families deserve a resolution.

I also spoke to West Virginia MetroNews about the ongoing government shutdown. Simply put, we must find a solution that ends this shutdown and includes adequate funding for border security. We must set a deadline that helps lead to the end of this partial shutdown, and ensure that thousands of federal employees go back to work.

We Must Address The Crisis At Our Border

Our Southern border has been used by drug cartels, sex traffickers and criminals to enter illegally, but recently it has also become a humanitarian crisis. We have seen a drastic increase in unaccompanied minors and families entering through the Southern border. We need to address the crisis at the border immediately

McKinley refuses pay until shutdown ends

On the first day of the government shutdown, I requested that I not receive pay until this shutdown ends. If federal employees are going without pay, Members of Congress should go without pay.

National Law Enforcement day

National Law Enforcement day on Wednesday reminded us to thank the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe.
Have a great week,

David McKinley
