Wild Royal “Blue” Discus Boyle

It is with deep sadness and immeasurable loss, that I announce the passing of one of our own. Wild Royal “Blue” Discus Boyle, age 6, of 144 Hackers Creek Road. Jane Lew, WV passed away peacefully and drifted off to Heaven on the morning of July 12, 2018 in the comfort of his aquatic home with his siblings, and friends by his side, following an extended illness.

Blue was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Valentine’s Day of 2012, and was joyfully adopted by Patrick D. Boyle and Dottie J. Walden in August and they fell in love with him at first sight, knowing that he was the right one for them, so he joined his new family in Jane Lew, WV where he would begin his new adventure.

Although he never married and was always told that there are plenty of fish in the sea, everyone knew that he had a crush on Miss Red “Mellon”, who could make him blush and bubble with one flirty swish of her tail, or one seductive pucker of her lips. He was never quite the same after her unexpected passing a couple of years ago, so we’re happy to know that they will now be reunited in God’s Great Aquarium where they can swim, play and be together forever.

His strength and charismatic presence will be part of the legacy that he leaves behind for his adopted siblings: YoYo, Panda, Rummynose, Columbian, Pristella, Whiskers, Flying Fox, Harlequin, Angel and Serpae, who will miss the guidance of their wise patriarch who was always reminding them to be lively and swift, to know when to keep their mouths shut, to avoid piercings, and to always stay in school.

In addition to his girlfriend Mellon, he was preceded in death by four discus siblings: Leo, Diamond, Millie, and his best friend, Checkers who passed away on June 07, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Big Ram, Blue Ram, Happy Ram, and Balloon Ram; and his Godfather, Big Shrimp.

Blue was a devoted and protective mentor who enjoyed taking long swims along the shore and greeting the tourists who frequented his neighborhood. He enjoyed watching movies on the big screen with the visiting children, and especially liked Turtle Tales, The Reef, Moana, and Finding Dory. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. He was the best fish friend that anyone could ask for . . .

A private Graveside Service will be held at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Family Pet Cemetery Flower Garden.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to his parents, Pat and Dottie at PO Box 569 Jane Lew, WV 26378.

The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored and privileged to serve the family of Blue Boyle.
