Randy William Cochran

Age 62, of Clarksburg, WV (Arlington Addition), passed away on Friday, December 01, 2017, at the WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, following an extended illness.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 03, 1955, a son of the late Chester William Cochran and Jo Ann (Holmes) Cochran of Clarksburg.

In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by two children: daughter, Starla Lynn Cochran of Glenville, WV, and son, Shawn William Cochran of Clarksburg; four siblings: Danny W. Cochran of Clarksburg, Cathy A. Oldaker and husband Steve of Greenwood, Lonny D. Cochran and wife Mitzi of Crestview, FL, and Debby L. Poole and husband John of Middleville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Randy graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1973, and attended the United Methodist Temple.

He retired as a bus driver for the Harrison County BOE, with over 30 years of service. While working there, Randy also worked 18 years for WBOY as a director/control operator.

His love was radio and television, especially big band music of the ’40s. In his younger years, he worked as a projectionist at the Old Robinson Grand Theatre, Lovetts Drive-In and the Sunset Drive-In. He was also a disc jockey for WOTR radio and WPDX, and broadcast his own small AM station locally over the years.

Randy was a sci-fi buff, and especially enjoyed “Star Trek.” He also enjoyed traveling, his favorite spot being Cherokee, NC.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main Street, Clarksburg, WV, from 4-8 PM on Monday, December 04, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 05, 2017, with Pastor Dustin McCune presiding.

Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

The Davis-Weaver Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cochran Family during this time.
