Jean Elizabeth Cottrill

Age 95, of Price Ave. Jane Lew, WV passed away at 11:58 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew, where she resided for the last four years.

She was born in McWhorter, WV on December 26, 1922 a daughter of the late Fred Bernice Miller and Sara Francis King Miller.

On January 19, 1946 she married Darrell Presley Cottrill and they celebrated 49 years of marriage before his passing on October 13, 1995.

Her kind, friendly nature will be carried on by her two sons: Edward G. Cottrill and wife, Marchetia of Sand Fork, WV; and David D. Cottrill and wife, Connie, of Jane Lew; two siblings: Rachel Snider of Barrackville, WV; and Fred Miller of Jane Lew; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Bernice Berg, Louise Cottrill, and Alma Ruth Miller.

Jean’s friendly, helpful personality served her well as she enjoyed working with the public over the years. She was employed by Benedum’s Grocery, Arter’s News Stand, Henderson’s Gift Shop, and Dick Smith’s Jewelry Store. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, working crosswords, and playing bingo at the Senior Center. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, and past member of the Jane Lew Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Road in Jane Lew from 11 AM - 1 PM on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ronald C. Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the Broad Run Cemetery in Jane Lew.

The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored and privileged to serve the family of Jean Elizabeth Cottrill.
