Dorothy Wass

Age 100 of Harrisville, WV was called away to be with the Lord, March 11, 2018 at Pine View Continuous Care, Harrisville.

She was born February 11, 1918 at Metz, WV, the daughter of the late Eustace Ruddlesden and Irene Snodgrass Ruddlesden.

Dorothy was a homemaker and had worked in the Harrisville garment factory for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and working crossword puzzles.

She was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she had been a member of United Methodist Women and The Friendship Sunday School Class.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharlene Pittman, Judith Ann Wilson (David) and Carol L. Gardner all of Harrisville; grandchildren, Aaron Pittman, Michael Pittman, Ian Wilson, Alex Gardner, Alison Gardner Teague and Jesse Wass; great grandchildren, Addison, Alyvia and Ayden Pittman, River Wilson and Merritt Teague; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wass; son, Michael K. Wass; grandson, Eric Pittman; brother, Ted Ruddlesden; sisters, Elaine Ruddlesden and Edith Swadley; half brother, Harold “Bud” Horner; half sister, Mary Wedekamm; and son-in-law, Don Pittman.

Raiguel Funeral Home assisted with cremation services and a graveside memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
