Claude William Bill

Age 76, of Weston, WV passed from this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

His parents, Claude R. and Myrtle M. Reising Bill, welcomed him to the world in Sewickley, PA, on August 08, 1942 and have surely rejoiced as they welcomed him to Heaven.

Claude is survived by two brothers: John H. “Jack” Bill of Sarasota, FL, and Frank Merrit Bill of Corydon, IN; and two nephews: John A. Bill of New Albany, IN, and Frank Bill, Jr., of Corydon, IN.

Master Sergeant Bill, was a Vietnam Veteran who was honorably discharged after 23 years of faithful service to his county in the United States Army. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” - John 15:13

Claude spent the next 15 years with The Texas Department of Corrections in the capacity of Captain while heading the Legal/Law Library.

Unfortunately, Claude had been in poor health for the past 2 years and had undergone the rigors of a 3 times per week dialysis regimen. His spirit remained intact and he stayed active in local service clubs such as VFW and American Legion. He had many friends and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

The Gospel of 2 Timothy 4:7-8 very aptly applies to his life: “ I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day: and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Claude’s wishes to be cremated have been honored and his family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date.

We, at The Pat Boyle Funeral Home located at 144 Hackers Creek Road in Jane Lew, were honored and privileged to serve Master Sergeant Claude William Bill and his family.

We appreciate his long military service.
