Arthur F. Cokeley

Age 89, of Cairo, WV, departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2019, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.

Arthur was born April 20, 1929 in Cairo, WV a son of the late Samuel H. and Mary (Harden) Cokeley.

He was retired from Perfeclite of Cleveland, OH where he worked as the foreman, sheer operator, shop steward, and die setter. He also worked on the B&O Railroad in West Virginia and the former Mid Atlantic Glass Factory in Ellenboro, WV. He was baptized at the Central Church of Christ in Clarksburg, WV and was a lifetime member of the DAV. He was a proud veteran of the US Army during the Korean War in 1951-1952. He also greatly enjoyed his companion dog, Puggy and feeding God’s little feathered friends; the wild birds, hummingbirds, sparrows, and crows.

He is survived by his son, John Cokeley of Cairo, WV; nephews, Samuel W. Cokeley of Pennsboro, WV; Rodney Reho of Painsville,OH; Holbert Cokeley of Ashtabula, OH; nieces, Linda Syslo of Salem, WV; Lona Cokeley of Salem, WV; Dreama Cokeley of Salem, WV and Becky Cokeley of Smithville, WV, along with several other great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel H. Cokeley, Jr and Harley Lee Cokeley; sister, Rilla Pearl Reho, and nieces, Patricia McDuffy; Rena Morgan; Mary Jane Minks, and Rilla Marie Reho.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, March 15, 2019, at the McCullough Raiguel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsboro, WV.

Burial will follow in the Cairo IOOF Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by Harris-Ritchie VFW #3554.

Visitation will be from 5 PM - 8 PM on Thursday, at the funeral home.
