Community Talk Heard Through The G-Vine™:

Conversation In McDonalds Parking Lot

•  Simmons and Devono trying to pull the wool over our eyes again?!

Called Charleston to check because it’s never smart to believe a word they say. Schools have to have minimum acreage to be right.

Here’s what they said we needed:

Elementary School- 5 usable acres

Middle School – 11 usable acres

High School – 15 usable acres

•  Isn’t this why Glenville Elementary never had a ball field or enough parking spaces?

Not enough usable land?

They had the career center build them a shed to make enough storage didn’t they?

How are they going to put a middle school when the state already had the meeting & closed it the end of this year. This county paid to advertise the meetings!  Not enough land was one of the reasons we couldn’t tear it down and rebuild. We had to buy more land.

•  What’s up with this nonsense?

Another one of those back room deals where the local board will get the blame on down the road for a poor site in another OEPA report?

Will that be the excuse to hold on here or is it just a time out tactic to keep us quiet for a while?

Community Talk Heard Through The G-Vine:

Mine Blow Out

•  Apparently a mine blew out and washed over the road near Eastern America on WV Hwy 5 east of Glenville at 5:30 AM this morning.

The water has gone down.

Word has it that it washed through Dorothy Rhoades house.

•  WV Hwy 5 was closed for a while.

•  This morning Devono, school superintendent and Frasier, school bus transportation were called out there twice.  They finally got there.

•  Actually the Mine filled with water and shot across the road like a river.

Blocked both lanes and heaven only knows what went in the Little Kanawha.

So forceful it went in Rhodes back door.

•  DOH has started the clean up

Troy Community Meeting

•  DOES ANY KNOW WHETHER THERE IS A TROY COMMUNITY MEETING TONIGHT AT 6PM?  I COULDN’T FIND IT ON GFP OR FOR THAT MATTER ANYWHERE ELSE.

MR. DEVANO IS THERE A MEETING? IF SO, HOW DID YOU INFORM US?

Glenville State College

•  Pioneer Village is without power.

Spewed into the Little Kanawha was what we heard.  Don’t we drink that water? What kind of junk was down in that old mine? Heard a lot of tales about that.
